Professional Services

Professional Services

Divorce Dimensions Inc. provides a faster, easy and more affordable way of obtaining a divorce to individuals/couples that are ready to terminate their marital union, agree not to use litigation, and can reach a mutually satisfying agreement in an amicable manner. Our team provides professional services that are designed to help prepare and submit to court the appropriate legal documentation for an Uncontested Divorce, Publication Divorce and Legal Separation. We also provide our clients with referrals to mental health professionals, mediators, career counselors, financial advisors, support groups and more. It is our belief that divorce should not have to be an overwhelmingly stressful process but rather a safe path towards a healthier lifestyle. We make a positive difference for individuals going through a very emotionally difficult time and assist in minimizing the negative impact in their lives and those of their loved ones.

Uncontested
Divorce

An Uncontested Divorce is one where the spouses have agreed on all aspects of the divorce. This includes division of assets and debt, children, and possibly other matters to avoid the tension and conflicts that have caused the divorce. An Uncontested Divorce can move along quickly and tends to be less emotionally and financially stressful. In Illinois uncontested divorces are based on the grounds that irreconcilable differences have caused the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage.

  1. Explain and provide a comprehensive understanding of the divorce process and the law in the State of Illinois.
  2. Will initiate the petition for the divorce – what are the grounds (reason) for your divorce.
  3. Draft, review and prepare the divorce documents for submission to the court clerk in the county where one of the spouses resides:

    • Petition for Dissolution of Marriage
    • Marriage Settlement Agreement
    • Responsibilities/ Plan Parenting Agreement
    • Judgment of Dissolution
    • Provide Referrals

Publication
Divorce

If you do not know the whereabouts of your spouse or domestic partner in order to properly serve him or her with your filed Summons and Petition you will ask the court for permission to serve your papers “by publication” or “by posting.”

Service by publication is when you publish the Summons or other document in a newspaper of general circulation in the area where your spouse or partner is likely to be. For service by publication, you will have to pay a newspaper a fee to publish the document. It will have to be published for 4 weeks in a row, at least once a week.

Service by posting is when the court clerk posts the Summons or other document in a visible place designated for court notices at the courthouse. To serve by posting, you must qualify for a court fee waiver. To get the court’s permission to serve by publication or by posting, you will have to prove to the court that you tried as hard as possible to find your spouse or partner.

Legal
Separation

The Divorce Dimensions team will help you fully understand he legalities involved in getting a legal separation; the benefits and limitations, your rights and those of your spouse. You will be assisted in filling out the legal documentation for parenting plan and responsibilities, child support, and spousal maintenance and settlement agreement.
